Costa Rica: Pura Vida

Costa Rica: Pura Vida
Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in San Jose

Welcome to Costa Rica! Arrive in San Jose at any time. There are no planned activities for the day, so check into our hotel, enjoy the city or relax. In the evening we will have a group meeting to discuss the plan for the next week and go out for our first Costa Rican dinner together.

Day 2: La Fortuna

Today we travel north by local transport to the town of La Fortuna on the foot of Volcano Arenal. In the evening, if we are lucky with the clouds, we can observe lava rolling from the volcano from the beautiful hot springs below while sipping cocktails.

Day 3 La Fortuna
La Fortuna is also known as Costa Rica’s centre of adventurous activities. You can choose to go on a white water rafting trip on one of the warm rivers, go kayaking, waterfall rappelling, or take a guided boat trip or safari float to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge where there are good opportunities to see lots of tropical animals like alligators, sloth, Iguanas, monkeys and lots of birds.

Day 4 Monteverde

We cross Lake Arenal by boat, while enjoying the beautiful green hills and the view of the volcano. On the other side of the lake you have the option to do some horse back riding before we travel further to Monteverde by van through the beautiful countryside.

Day 5 Monteverde

With our free day in Monteverde you can tour the lush cloud forest reserve, truly a bird lover’s paradise. Walk on the hanging bridges through the forest canopy, feel like Tarzan and do a thrilling canopy zip line tour, visit the butterfly and orchid gardens, frog pond or serpentarium.

Day 6 Quepos and Manuel Antonio

We travel with our private van to the Pacific beach town of Quepos. From here you can visit the famous Manuel Antonio Reserve and its gorgeous beaches.

Day 7, 8 Quepos
 and Manuel Antonio.
Free days to enjoy Quepos and the Manuel Antonio beach National Park. There are lots of possible activities to do here: sea kayaking, white water rafting, waterfall rappelling, mangrove boat tours, snorkeling, take surfing lessons, or take it easy on the beach.
We end our stay at the beach with an included sunset boat tour to watch dolphins and the Manuel Antonio NP from the water.

Day 9 San Jose- Departure
A local bus takes us back to the capital where we will have time to do last shopping and have a last night out.

You can fly out tonight or decide to stay an extra night in the capital and leave tomorrow.
