Day 1: Salkantay - Santa Teresa Trek
We depart Cusco at 6:00 AM with our private transport on a very scenic route to Mollepata village(2800 mts.). We stop for panoramic views of the Apurimac Valley and to have a breakfast in a typical restaurant. We drive for one hour more until the starting point of our trail called Sayllapata (3200 mts). Here we meet our horsemen and our team of the trekking staff. We hike for two hours and a half through traditional Andean communities like Cruzpata, Challacancha and unspoiled Andean villages to Soraypampa (3750 mts), where we´ll have the lunch. Then after four hours will arrive to our first campsite, Soyrococha (at 4200 mts).

Day 2: Salkantay-Santa Teresa Trek
Today we ascent to the highest point of our trek, Salkantay Pass at 4600 mts. From this point we can appreciate the magical views of the Mountain Salcantay, a stunning snow capped mountain (6271 mts). We hike for three hours with spectacular views of the mountains Humantay and Huayanay, small lakes and moraines to our lunch site, Huayraqmachay ( 3700mts). Then we go down for three hours and a half until our second campsite, Colpabamba ( 2600 mts).

Day 3: Salkantay-Santa Teresa Trek
The third day, we will walk for four hours easy downhill to a high Jungle niche called ‘Ceja de Selva’ where coffee, coca and fruits grow. We can shower in a waterfall, take amazing pictures and with some luck we can observe the famous Peruvian National Bird " Gallito de las Rocas ". We stop in Playa (2250 mts) for lunch and have the rest of the afternoon free to rest.

Day 4: Salkantay-Santa Teresa Trek
After a short journey by bus (one hour) we´ll arrive to the bridge of Santa Teresa. After 15 minutes of walking we´ll use a typical transportation called Oroya. After that we start hiking again for two hours until the Hydroelectric. Here we have lunch and take the train at 3:20PM for one hour to Aguas Calientes (2000 meters). We camp near the river just below Machu Picchu in Aguas Calientes.

Day 5: Machu Picchu -Cusco
We get up in the morning for an early walk or bus to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. Your guide will give you a tour of this magical site. After this you’ll have plenty of free time to explore more on yourself and to make pictures. You can choose to climb the mountain Huayna Picchu, Temple of the Moon, or go up the Sun gate for incredible panoramic views. In the afternoon we take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for our train back to Cusco.
