1. Welcome to Lima

Day 1. Welcome to Lima

Arrival to Lima, the city of Kings! A member of our staff waits for you at the airport with a name sign and takes you to your hotel.

Overnight at Second Home hotel in Barranco, the beautiful home of the famous local artist, Victor Delfin.

2. Private city tour + Larco museum

Enjoy the private gallery of the artist and the garden overlooking the Pacific Ocean from your hotel
after breakfast. Around 10am your English-speaking private local guide picks you up to start a
walking tour from your hotel in the neighborhood of Barranco to then head to Miraflores from “El Parque del Amor” along the beautiful cliffs and parks overlooking the ocean to the lighthouse. For lunch we take you to our favorite small seafood restaurant in Miraflores. In the afternoon we visit Lima downtown to see the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Government Palace and the catacombs of San Francisco. (B, D)

3. Flight to Arequipa / free day

Day 3. Flight to Arequipa / free day

In the morning, we pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the airport to take a short flight to Arequipa. Welcome to the Andes mountains! You arrive and get transferred to the hotel. The white colonial city of Arequipa is located at 2400 m altitude. You have a free day to acclimatize and enjoy the city. Arequipa is also known for its regional gastronomy. (B)

Day 4. City tour in Arequipa and scenic rafting trip with views on the volcanoes

In the morning, our local guide takes you on a walking tour around this beautiful city where you visit the main sites of interest such as the popular market of San Camilo and the Monastery of Santa Catalina with its beautiful colonial colors. In the afternoon, you can take part in an optional hike in the nearby country side or a short scenic rafting trip on the Chile river with views of the volcanoes. Your local guide can surely point out one of the local picanteria restaurants in town where you can try the typical local food. Arequipa is known for its famous rocoto relleno and chupe de camarones.

5. Tour to Colca Canyon in a small group

Day 5. Tour to the Colca Canyon in a small group

Today you travel from Arequipa further into the Andes to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world. You travel by volcanoes and through the Aguada Blanca reserve, where you have a chance to observe many llamas, alpacas and vicuñas in their natural habitat. Later in the afternoon and evening you can enjoy your hotel, the beautiful Colca Lodge where you can relax in the private thermal baths while watching the stars of the southern hemisphere. (B, L)

6. Explore the Colca Canyon in a small group

Day 6. Explore the Colca Canyon

In the morning, we pick you up and take you to “Cruz Del Condor” to take an enjoyable view of the depth of the Canyon and, if weather permits, take majestic pictures of the flight of the Condors. Back to Colca Lodge we stop in some scenic viewpoints and towns like Yanque and Maca. Return to the hotel and enjoy the activities. (B)

7. Travel over the altiplano to the shores of Lake Titicaca. Welcome in the community of Ccotos.

After breakfast, we pick you up from the hotel in the Colca Canyon and drive over the altiplano (high plateau) with beautiful high-Andean lakes to the biggest of all: Lake Titicaca. On the way, we stop in the Inca and pre-Inca grave site of Sillustani, a funerary complex where you can see a series of impressive tombs called “chullpas”. In the afternoon, you arrive at the Quechua community of Ccotos, where you will be welcomed in the house of a local family, a great way to experience first hand the rural Andean life. (B, D)

8. Explore the islands and rich cultures around Lake Titicaca. Stay with community of Luquina.

Day 8. Titicaca Lake and Aymara Luquina community

After having breakfast and spending some time with the family, we join the local fishermen on one of their small sail boats and navigate to Ticonata island in front of the community.  Once we visited this little island we go onboard a larger boat to visit the floating reed islands of the indigenous Uros people, to learn about their very particular life style. Your local guide shares the history, customs and habits of the locals. After that, you continue to Taquile Island (UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site) where you make a hike on the island and then have lunch and learn about the different local traditions here. In the afternoon you will arrive at a clean guesthouse of a local indigenous Aymara family that lives at the opposite shore of the Lake. You have a chance to interact with the family and see how life goes on in this community too. You will be able to notice the differences and similarities between the Quechua and Aymara communities and enjoy another night . (B, L, D)

9. Amazing luxury train ride through the Andes to Cusco.

Day 9. Scenic train ride Puno – Cusco

In the morning, we pick you up from the community to transfer you to the train station in Puno to board the train to Cusco. The PeruRail Titicaca train features an open-air observatory car, allowing you to take in the majestic views while enjoying the typical music and dances of the Peruvian highlands. During your trip, you have the chance to take panoramic pictures of some of the quintessential Andean landscapes. The route covered by the PeruRail Titicaca train is considered by many travel magazines to be one of the most beautiful in the world, with a trip that lasts ten and a half hours. At the start of the journey, passengers are welcomed at the Puno Station, where local musicians provide background music as you board the train. Once aboard, you can enjoy the two dining cars decorated in the style of the Pullman cars of the 1920s. Also, during the trip, you enjoy the finest gourmet food. 11. Private tour in the Sacred Valley of the Incas

In the morning we pick you up from the hotel to start a private full-day tour to the Sacred Valley of

the Incas, but first we visit the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman located near Cusco. Then, you visit the ruins of Pisac with its impressive Inca terraces, and the colorful market of the Pisac town. At Urubamba, you visit an inspiring local school project where you enjoy a nice lunch. After that, you take ceramic classes at Seminario workshop. Finally, we go to the authentic Inca town of Ollantaytambo where many people still live in houses that were originally built by the Incas. There, you see urban water channels in the tiny Inca streets which are still intact. You visit the Inca Fortress of Ollantaytambo. (B, L)

12. Coffee and Cacao trekking

We pick you up from the hotel in Ollantaytambo and take you to the Huayopata community. We pass through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where you can stop and take in the stellar scenery. The highest point is Abra Malaga, with an altitude of 4,316 meters (here you can also take some unforgettable pictures). We also pass through the interesting landscape of the cloud forest. We arrive at the farm, where a member of the family welcome us and you can enjoy a short break. We have lunch with the family and a member of the family takes you around the farm where they explain their daily chores, the process that cacao production undergoes, and you also have the opportunity to try in-season fruit! After the visit around the farm, you participate in some traditional chocolate roasting. You have the opportunity to prepare your hot chocolate from start to finish. (B, L, D)

13. Coffee and Cacao trekking and train to Machu Picchu village (Aguas Calientes)

After breakfast we travel by car to the second family where we are going to enjoy our cacao tour. This family is located around 20 minutes away from the first family. There, the family shows you the process of coffee from bean to cup, and you learn about the quality of an organic coffee. In the end, you share a cup of coffee roasted by you and one member of the family in a traditional way. You have lunch and head to the Hidroelectrica station to take the 30-minute train to Aguas Calientes. You arrive there and the guide walks you to your hotel. (B, L)

14. Visit of Machu Picchu / Maras and Moray

Day 14. Visit of Machu Picchu / Maras and Moray

Very early in the morning, your guide picks you up from the hotel to take the 30-minute bus to the citadel. You arrive and enter Machu Picchu You have a private guided tour for approximately 3 hours, visiting this forgotten Inca city with its plazas, temples, sacred fountains and terraces. After the tour you take the bus down to Aguas Calientes. Around noon, you take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then back to Cusco with stops in Maras and Moray. (B)

15. Flight Cusco / Puerto Maldonado / Amazon Rainforest

Day 15. Cusco / Collpa Tambopata Inn

You get picked up from the hotel and transferred to the airport to take the flight to Puerto Maldonado. You arrive there and take a 2-hour 4×4 car ride to the Tambopata River. Then, you get to the lodge in 25 minutes. On the way, we have a good chance to see capybaras and many shore birds. You arrive at the lodge, receive orientation and have lunch. After lunch, we walk into the forest and we have a chance to see monkeys. When it gets dark, we return back to the lodge in order to light up our torches and take a night sail in the river to see more capybaras and caimans. Dinner. (B, L, D)

16. Amazon Rainforest

Day 16. Amazon Rainforest

We wake up very early in the morning, and then go on the Tambopata River for 1.5 hours to watch a wonderful show at the Chuncho clay lick with parrots and macaws and many other birds species which make very interesting noises. You have breakfast while watching the birds. On our way back to the lodge, we make a stop to swim on a stream. We then have lunch and walk in the rainforest to see many medicinal plants. We return to the lodge, have dinner and then have a night walk in the forest. (B, L, D)

17. Amazon Rainforest

Day 17. Amazon Rainforest

We have breakfast and then go for a 30-minute until we reach the Gato stream, where we can do sport fishing by catching piranhas. We also take a short walk to learn about the local farm. We return to the lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, we go to a mammal clay lick, where we have the chance to see monkeys, deer, and wild pigs. At night, we go to the river bank to make a bonfire and spend time with your guide. Dinner. (B, L, D)

18. Travel back by motorcanoe and flight to Lima

Day 18. Travel back by motor canoe and flight to Lima

After breakfast, you return to Puerto Maldonado. On the way back, we can make a stop in a local community. Then, you are transferred to the airport and flight back to Lima. Upon arrival, you are transferred to the hotel. (B)
